Sourdough – 2 days – introduction course – September 7 and 8

A course for anyone who wants to start baking with sourdough, or for homebakers searching for some new inspiration. Your teacher is Gerard Hardeman. At the very first Dutch Sourdough Tasting in 2018 Gerard won the first prize in the category ‘Experimental Bread’ for his ‘Generously filled Rye’.

Part of the course will be a visit to our miller at the windmill Twee Gebroeders, it’s situated on the dike of the river Maas and on a walking distance from our bakery.

Spiced biscuits (speculaas!) and Stroopwafels – workshop – Oktober 5

A typical Dutch treat: spiced biscuits, or speculaas and stroopwafels. Original favourites in the Dutch cookie jar. Make your own organic dough, learn how to cook the sugar ‘stroop’ and use a traditional mould to make your own spiced biscuit doll.

Yeastbread with soaker – 2 days – introduction course – October 26 and 27

Organic dough, without additives, requires another way of working. Discover what it means to bake organic, and how you can even improve your home baked bread (because of its extra taste, the better color and the longer freshness) by using a soaker.

Delicous December – workshop – November 9

During the winter life tends to move indoors. Time to experiment and expand your skills as a homebaker. In this course will be working on the goodies that come on the table in December: Christmas wreaths, sausage rolls and the stuffed stollen.
